About Our Firm

For years, Alford, Nance, Jones & Oakley, LLP has been providing quality, personalized financial guidance to local individuals and businesses. Our expertise ranges from basic tax management and accounting services. Alford, Nance & Jones, LLP, (formed January 1 , 1997 as York, Neel & Co.-Madisonville, LLP), is a successor Firm to York, Neel & Company, LLP. The name was changed effective January 1, 2016 to Alford, Nance, Jones & Oakley, LLP. The Firm's partners and CPAs are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants. The Firm has 9 employees, consisting of a professional staff of 7 and support staff of 2. Our clientele is represented from a wide variety of industries including governmental, educational, manufacturing, coal, health care, construction, wholesale, retail and various not-for-profit institutions. Every client is assigned to a partner who is responsible for the quality and timeliness of services provided to that client. Our basic service areas are: Auditing and Accounting, Tax Compliance and Planning, and Bookkeeping/Payroll Services. We maintain an auditing and accounting library and a tax library adequately stocked with reference material to assist our staff in researching client tax, auditing and accounting issues. The Firm has developed its own quality control document and related materials. All the Firm 's partners have been involved in a variety of leadership positions in civic, charitable and professional organizations.

J.WESLEY ALFORD, JR., CPA, PARTNER

Wesley graduated from t he University of Kentucky in 1980 with a bachelor degree in accounting. He joined Alford, Nance & Jones, LLP in 1981, received his certification in 1983 and became a partner in 1988. He is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Society of CPAs (1992 - 1995) and a recipient of the Society's Outstanding Committee Chairman Award in 1991 for the Governmental Accounting Committee.

JACQUELINE L. NANCE, CPA, PARTNER

Jackie graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor degree in accounting from Murray State University in 1983 where she was a member of Beta Alpha Psi and received the Junior Accounting Award. Ms. Nance joined Alford, Nance & Jones, LLP in August, 1983 as a staff accountant, received her certification in September, 1985 and became a partner in January, 2000. Nance serves as the technical issues and CPE partner for the Firm.

THERESA A. JONES, CPA. PARTER

Theresa is a 1990 honors graduate (magna cum laude) with a bachelor degree in accounting from the University of Southern Indiana. Ms. Jones joined Alford, Nance & Jones, LLP in December, 1990 as a staff accountant, received her certification in 1992 (upon passing all parts of the CPA Exam on her first attempt in 1 990), and became a partner in January 2000. Jones serves as the human resource and designated audit quality partner for the Firm.

LORI A. OAKLEY, CPA, PARTNER

Lori graduated cum laude from Murray State University in 1 990 with a bachelor's in business (area in accounting). In 1995, Lori received her Master of Business Administration degree from Murray State University. Ms. Oakley received her certification in February, 2001. She joined Alford, Nance & Jones, LLP in September, 2007 and was admitted as a partner on January 1, 2012. Oakley serves as the technology partner for the Firm.

MEGAN JONES, STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Megan graduated from Pensacola Christian College in May, 2015 with a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a bachelor of arts degree in humanities. She joined Alford, Nance & Jones, LLP in August, 2015.

PATRICK HIBBS, STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Patrick graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in May, 2014 with a bachelor's in accounting. He joined Alford, Nance and Jones, LLP in August, 2014.
